Laura & Aakash's Miami Fusion Indian Wedding

Working on bridesmaids and groomsmen outfits at the same time with a limited amount of time isn't an easy feat but our team had so much fun designing these modern bridesmaids and groomsmen looks for Laura and Aakash's fusion wedding in Miami!

1. What made you choose the outfits you did for this event?

We were planning an Indian/South American fusion wedding in Miami in December. We had a single ceremony that honored traditions from both sides, and wanted our bridal party to have modern outfits that reflected the overall theme of our wedding. We started with a general color palette and Harleen was able to take it from there. We are both in medicine, and lack a creative touch, but Harleen drafted proposals for each outfit that made us confident in her ability to deliver what we were imagining.

2. What advice would you give to future couples for their wedding?

Stay true to what you envision. If you don't know exactly what you want (we certainly did not) then start with a general idea and trust your vendors to take it from there.

3. What were you most looking forward to during your wedding/wedding weekend?

There is no other time in our lives that we have been surrounded solely by family and close friends. It was an amazing feeling to be in the middle of the dance floor and see a loved ones face in every direction. Wedding planning can certainly be stressful and chaotic, but the memories from that weekend were more than worth the stress. In the end, every detail in our wedding was a reflection of us as a couple.

4. How did you both meet?

We met in medical school, first as friends and later as study buddies for our first licensing exam. We made a great team then and now!

5. What was your experience like working with Harleen Kaur?

Amazing! Harleen made outfits for our bridesmaids, best man, groomsmen, groomswoman, flower girls, and ring bearer. We reached out to Harleen with a limited time frame and very general ideas of what we wanted. We essentially had a color palate and silhouette. From there, she creatively offered multiple proposals and presented them in a slide deck that we could compare and visualize. We sent in measurements for our bridal party, who were all over the US, and all of the outfits fit perfectly. Our bridal party looked and felt their best for our big day, and many have continued to use their outfits because they love them so much. Harleen was in constant communication with us and made us feel at ease knowing their outfits would turn out amazing and be delivered on time. We loved working with Harleen so much that we have since returned to get outfits of our own!
